This book was that for me: an amazing Victorian mystery that didn't let me down. The idea of a mystery, steampunk, mythology, and paranormal book seemed like too much for me, but George Mann managed to make it both logical and enjoyable. The Osiris Ritual is the second book in the Newbury & Hobbes series. Somehow I ended reading this/5. The Story of Osiris, Isis and Horus: The Egyptian Myth of Creation From Geb, the sky god, and Nut, the earth goddess came four children: Osiris, Isis, Set and Nepthys. I bought this book before I knew it was part of a trilogy. That being said, it didn't feel like the typical setup book, where you must get the second & third volume to actually receive an entire story.

What an amazing translation of the Egyptian book of the dead, or as it should be known, the Egyptian book of going fourth by day, Beautiful, poetic, profound, and moving, as a practitioner of the craft for the past 38 years, I have studied the esoteric aspect of Egypt, I have the Wallis Budge translation, which is very good, Academic and a /5(93).
